Nadine Zwiener-Collins, PhD

Nadine Zwiener-Collins is a Postdoc at LMU Munich who joined the team in April 2024. She is researching political behaviour/attitudes and contributing to the team’s teaching.
Philipp Mendoza, M.Sc.
Philipp Mendoza is a PostDoc in the Project How to make the case for Democracy and joined the the team in November 2025. He previously worked as a PostDoc at the Free University of Amsterdam and did his PhD in Political Communication at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR).
Josefina Sommer, M.Sc.
Josefina Sommer joined the team in November 2025 and is currently pursuing her PhD within the project How to make the case for democracy. She previously studied Psychology at the University of Wuerzburg (B.Sc.) and Lund University (M.Sc.).
Laura Kiemes, B.A.

Laura Kiemes is a student assistant who joined the team in January 2023. She studied sociology at LMU Munich and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in computational social science at LMU.
Karolin Freitag, B.Sc. B.A.

Karolin Freitag is a research assistant and joined the team in October 2023. She studied Mathematics (B.Sc.) at the Technical University of Munich and Political Science (B.A.) at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University. Currently she is working on achieving a degree in Data Science (M.Sc.).
Valeriya Barakhvostova, B.A.
Valeriya Barakhvostova is a research assistant and joined the team in February 2024. She supports an ongoing study that implements and tests AI Interviewers, i.e. using Large Language Models for In-Depth Interviewing.
